Women’s unconscious: Women’s safety and public places

Despite stringent laws, women stay away from feeling safe in most public places. A group of events in the first three months of 2025 suggests how weak women are – especially in public transport. A 23 -year -old woman faced serious injuries after jumping from a train to escape from a real -house. In another shocking case, a pregnant woman who was allegedly pushed out of a train faced an abortion after a rape. Harassment is a regular regularly for women in unreserved train coaches and in government buses. Who is accountable for this serious reality when the society claims women empowerment? In their seminal work, Why?Shilpa Fadke, Sameera Khan, and Shilpa Ranade argue that when the society says that she wants to protect women, it does not try to make public places safe. Instead, it wants to limit women to the care of homes, schools, or others. Even today, women should consider continuously day time, they travel, carefully after dark or before sunrise.

An essential initial point is confirming that women have the right to live without any fear and remain independently. Whereas compared to easy, a recent decision of the Delhi High Court has set an example. The court upheld the sentence of a person sexually assaulting a woman in a public bus in 2015, Call it “deep related to reality” Despite the decades of freedom and difficult laws, oppression persists in public places. The court correctly stated that decisions in such cases serve as important signs for the society. Until an oppressed-free environment is created, the conversation about the progress of women remains hollow. Is equally important Decision of order of Allahabad High Court of Supreme Court of India it was Insulted governed The rape of a minor was not attempted to rape. The apex court’s response sends a clear and very important message: the “completely insensitive and inhuman” interpretations of the law are unacceptable. The responsibility is not with the judiciary alone. Administrative bodies should ensure that the roads are well burnt, the police are trained to handle harassment cases effectively, and all vacancies are immediately filled in law enforcement. A coordinated, without all-managed approaches for safety, women live in fear, denying their correct access to public life.
