Women’s Wellbeing: The Power of Prioritizing Physical and Mental Health

Women Empowerment Self: Focus on Physical and Mental Well-Being

Women deserve better treatment in the field of health and fitness

Did you know that many common medications are metabolized differently in women’s bodies than in men? Nevertheless, many clinical trials to test new drugs still only include men in their studies, mainly for the perceived reason that women have much more cyclical variables such as hormone levels in their bodies. can complicate the results of the study.

“This is one of the reasons why I consider the emergence of the women’s health and fitness movement to be an urgent need of the day. I would go a step further and recommend that each woman be treated as a unique creature, with all her Diet, fitness and mental health needs are personalized,” says Dr Biju KS, Senior Medical Officer, Veeruts Wellness Solutions.,

Today, an increasing number of medical studies are pointing out an obvious limitation of their study – that their study subjects were all North American, and that the study results may not hold for other major populations such as South Asians or Africans. But we can’t find a disclaimer anywhere – all of the study subjects were men, and the results may not hold true for women.

Still, women deserve better treatment in the field of health and fitness. “A female body has a lot more complexity attached to it. The mere fact that she is the only one of the sex capable of being home to a child, the only one responsible for giving birth to a child, and the only one capable of raising it, adds layers of complexity to her physiology and health. Adds more layers. Dr. Biju K.S.

Whether she ends up having children in her 20s, 30s or 40s, or not at all, from her early teens right through her puberty, “her body is going through the monthly cyclical changes of ovulation, expected changes in the uterus.” A child, and the inevitable menstruation that has to happen without fertilization. Such continuous cycles for most part of her life leave a mark on her physical and mental health,” says Dr. Biju KS.

With such complex internal organs, systems, and activities going on throughout her life, a lot can go wrong, and it’s really no wonder that endometriosis, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, PCOS, PCOD, fibroids, and breast Cancer of the uterus and cervix. He suffers from lifestyle diseases like obesity as well as psychological conditions like depression, anxiety etc.

Fortunately for her, a lot of advances in medical science over the past two decades have made it possible to predict and pre-empt most of these gynecological diseases in particular. Dr. Biju believes, “Genetic testing and metabolic assessment can detect these diseases decades in advance, but based on the results of these tests individual lifestyle changes in diet, exercise, yoga, meditation etc. A change in diet helps in keeping such diseases at bay.” K.S.

Today, testing and intervention programs such as EPLIMO that achieve this are also available in India, and a growing number of women are taking responsibility for their physical and mental health using such science-based programs.
