Won’t cooperate with Ernakulam DMO: KGMOA

Ernakulam District Unit of Kerala Government Medical Officers Association The protest against the transfer of two doctors from the Community Health Center (CHC) in Vadavukode Gram Panchayat (KGMOA) will not cooperate with the District Medical Officer (DMO).

The doctors associated with the association staged a sit-in at the office of DMO Dr. V. Jayashree demanding the reinstatement of both the doctors. According to KGMOA, the health department had shifted Dr. Biji Elizabeth Kuriakose and Dr. Sreejith, both assistant surgeons at CHC, Vadavukode, to General Hospital and Taluk Hospital, Alappuzha.

“they [doctors] The center was victimized for a series of irregularities committed by two clerks who had earlier faced disciplinary action. The director of health services was unilaterally shifted out of Ernakulam without giving the doctors an opportunity to present his position on the basis of a report submitted by the DMO. Hence, we have decided to boycott the DMO and not cooperate with their directions till the issue is resolved,” said T. Sudhakar, secretary of KGMOA’s Ernakulam unit.

Meanwhile, Dr. Jayashree said that he had received complaints against both the panchayat officials and MLA PV Srinijin, alleging non-performance. I had only recommended that his transfer would help in ensuring smooth functioning of the Centre, especially after the doctors were on dharna demanding action,” she said. On the allegations against the two clerks, Dr. Jayashree said that they have been transferred from the Centre. Disciplinary action has also been initiated against them.
