The police also said that Kashaf has four cases registered against him, of which three were registered at the Central Crime Station, and are linked to creating hatred among communities.

While Kashaf was arrested on August 25, he was released on bail the same evening.

Meanwhile, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen later issued a statement clarifying that Kashaf was not associated with the party. “The PD Act was invoked by Hyderabad Police against a person today. That person has nothing to do with our party and its activities,” the party’s public relations wing said.
