People in the know told TOI that “the matter cannot be put to rest until every single detail of what Saha said in the interview and the tweet shared by him is taken into account”.
After all my contributions to Indian cricket..this is what I have to deal with from a so called “respectable” journalist! This… https://t.co/3p2z2sqlkf

The BCCI intends to delve deeper into this crisis and find out if any other cricketer has experienced the same. “Saha is a contracted cricketer from BCCI. The board has its own player not to disappoint. Also, if there is any kind of nexus at work here, someone has to look into it.” these developments.
In his interview to ESPN Cricinfo on Sunday, Saha said, “The biggest setback was when I scored 61 against New Zealand in Kanpur despite being injured, Dadi (as BCCI President) Sourav Ganguly is referred to), texted me to congratulate him and said that as long as he is there, I don’t need to worry about anything. Naturally, I was shocked by what I was told immediately after a series.”
BCCI officials are now asking the question that ‘in what capacity did Ganguly give any assurance on the selection to Saha?’
“Rahul Dravid-bit is understandable. He is the national coach and might want to keep his players in the loop. It is between the coach and the players. A BCCI official has to speak with Saha and reassure him. What was the need to do. Place on the side? ‘I don’t have to worry as long as it’s there’. how wrong is this (How wrong to say something like that),” says the official.
The developments came after a recent controversy when it emerged that Ganguly was attending selection committee meetings in the recent past.
“First the Virat incident happened, then all this. And then he (Saha) posted that tweet of the screenshot (of messages received from a journalist). What is this happening? The board has to act because enough is enough,” Says those tracking events.
Here’s the WhatsApp message Saha got (in verbatim): “Have an interview with me. Would be nice. I won’t push if you want to be democratic.
“They pick one wicketkeeper. Who is the best. You try to pick 11 journalists who according to me is not the best. Choose who can help the most.
(A missed call appears on the screenshot of the chat)
“You didn’t call. Never again will I interview you. I don’t take insults. And I’ll remember it. It wasn’t something you should have done”.
Many senior cricketers like Virender SehwagHarbhajan Singh, RP Singh, Aakash Chopraand even former India coach Ravi Shastri Came out in support of Saha, requesting that the name of the said journalist be taken.
extremely sad. Such a sense of entitlement is neither respected nor respected by journalists, just chamchagiri. With you… https://t.co/JqTcgQXoKf

“A player abused by a shocking position being threatened by a magazine. Something that is happening very frequently with #TeamIndia. It’s time to dive into BCCI PREZ. Find out who is that person who is every cricketer’s side. In interest. This is coming from Gambhir The Ultimate Team Man WS” – Shastri’s tweet read.

BCCI will contact Saha and ask him to share the WhatsApp message after which forensic investigation will be done. “If the sender of those messages is actually a journalist covering Indian cricket, the board will take steps to ban him,” an official said.
Ridhi you just name that person so that cricket community will know who acts like this. Otherwise good too… https://t.co/IuLpE0J6xD

Here the biggest concern of the board is that other cricketers are going through similar shock. “It’s also important to see if anyone else has gone through this,” he said.
When it comes to BCCI or cricketers, we all hear a lot of ‘sources’ from journalists. Can any single source tell… https://t.co/bQfs6MFu09
