Xbox: Why Microsoft may have bad news for Xbox fans – Times of India

Phil Spencer, Microsoft‘s xbox According to a report in Video Game Chronicle, the chief reportedly said in an interview with The Wrap that the Xbox Series X | The S console shortage may continue well into 2022. He added that global chip shortages weren’t the only thing constraining console shipments and that there are “a variety of pinch points” when it comes to assembling, packaging and shipping Xbox Series X|S consoles.
“I think it’s probably too different to talk about it as just a chip problem,” he reportedly said in the conversation. “When I think about, what’s the point of getting the parts needed to build a console today, and then taking it to markets where there’s demand, there are a variety of pinch points in that process. And I think of that regrettably. There is talk that it will be with us for months and months, certainly by the end of this calendar year and into the next calendar year.”
Spencer said that the disappointment that fans may feel due to the unavailability of the console is the most frustrating thing for the company, but they are working hard to mitigate the issue and it is going to be a challenge.
PlayStation5 is also going through similar issues. Sony Recently, a new PS5 model has been introduced with some changes to the previous one like a smaller heatsink and different fans. Console makers have been shorting stocks for more than a year and a half.
