parts of Srinagar follow the shutdown
A spontaneous shutdown took place in parts of Srinagar on Wednesday ahead of the court’s decision on the quantum of punishment to separatist Yasin Malik, who has been convicted in the terror funding case, officials said.
He said that most shops and business establishments in Maisuma and adjoining areas, including some in Lal Chowk, remained closed.
Shops were also closed here in some areas of the old city, though public transport was running normally.
He said that security forces have been deployed in large numbers in the city to avoid law and order problem.
