Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited his mother and other relatives in his native village Panchur in Pauri district for the first time after becoming the Chief Minister on May 3.

Nestled behind the densely forested hills in Pauri district, this village is barely visible from a distance on normal days, but it shone in soft light on the occasion of his visit.

After visiting his village, Mr. Adityanath also tweeted a picture in which he is seen taking blessings by touching his mother’s feet.

Mr Adityanath was also unable to attend the last rites of his father Anand Bisht in Haridwar on April 21, 2020, following his death at AIIMS, New Delhi a day earlier, amid the nationwide COVID outbreak.

The Chief Minister had said, “I had a strong desire to have a glimpse of my father at the last moment. However, due to the sense of duty towards 23 crore people of the state during the COVID-19 pandemic, I could not do so,” the Chief Minister said. had said. , due to his inability to attend his father’s funeral.

“Adityanath, in fact, had gone to his village to attend a family function for the first time in many years,” said an official.

Although Mr. Adityanath is coming to Uttarakhand to attend political events and address public meetings, this is the first time that he has visited his native village.

He will spend the night in his village and will attend the ritual of shaving his nephew’s hair on Wednesday.

Surrounded by his relatives and acquaintances from neighboring villages soon after his arrival, Mr. Adityanath first spoke to the younger members of his family and distributed chocolates to them.

Earlier, the Chief Minister got emotional while unveiling the statue of his spiritual guru Mahant Avaidyanath at Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Government College, Bidhyani, Yamkeshwar.
