‘Zamaana Lage’, the vibey first song from Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino, was launched in Mumbai on the appropriately cloudy evening of Wednesday (May 28). Composed by Pritam, who also created the iconic soundtrack of the first Metro film, ‘Zamaana Lage’ is described as a ‘modern ghazal’, and is voiced by Arijit Singh and Shashwat Singh. Qaisar Ul Jafri has penned the lyrics. with additional verses by Sandeep Shrivastava.

Themed around monsoons, and the quiet stirrings of a fresh romance, the track checks in with the multiple couples — some young, one old and another middle-aged — whose lives form the patchwork of Metro In Dino.

A spiritual sequel to Life in a… Metro, the new film features Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher and Saswata Chatterjee. Sen Sharma, interestingly, is a returning cast member from the first film.

The album of Metro In Dino will have a total of ten songs. At the event, Pritam revealed that Aditya Roy Kapur has voiced the musical portions of his character in the film.

Roy Kapur said, “As an actor so when you are shooting the songs you have this beautiful words that you have to kind of act like you are singing them but it adds so much depth to everything and the songs always kind of take the story forward and I’m looking forward to hearing all 10 ..I haven’t heard all of them. But I am sure it’s gonna be amazing.”

Metro In Dino will release in theatres on July 4, 2025.
