The Zoho CEO took to Twitter to praise the Tata Nexon EV and said how it is serving the purpose of commuting in nearby cities.

Zoho’s CEO, Sridhar Vembu is quite an EV fan. In December last year, he bought a new Mahindra Treo Electric and even took to Twitter to suggest some improvements to the electric three-wheeler to Mahindra & Mahindra chairman Anand Mahindra. He has now added a brand new Tata Nexon EV to his garage and looks quite impressed with his new drive. The Zoho CEO again praised the Tata Nexon EV on Twitter and said how it is serving the purpose as far as commuting to nearby cities is concerned.

Vembu says that the Tata Nexon EV serves their purpose of close intercity commute.

“I have bought a Tata Nexon EV for driving in nearby cities. It provides a very pleasant driving experience and especially I love the handling. It is clear why this is the best selling EV in India I am proud to be at Tata Motors delivering this beautifully engineered vehicle,” wrote Vembu in his tweet.
In the last two years, Tata Motors has sold over 13,500 units of the all-electric subcompact SUV in India. In fact, as of April 2021, the company sold only 4,000 units of the EV and then sold an additional 9,000 units of the Nexon EV, registering a two-fold increase in just nine months. The Tata Nexon EV has been the best-selling electric car ever in India and averages around 1000 units a month. It was the first electric vehicle launched by Tata Motors for private car buyers and was a smashing success. For the longest time, it was the most affordable EV for private car buyers, until recently, when Tata Motors launched the Tigor EV. Currently, the Nexon EV is priced between ₹ 14.29 Lakh and ₹ 16.90 Lakh (ex-showroom, India) in India.

The Tata Nexon EV draws power from a permanent-magnet AC motor that is paired with a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The electric motor is tuned for 127 bhp and 245 Nm of peak torque and can clock triple-digit speeds in 9.9 seconds along with a top-speed of 120 kmph. The IP67 rated battery pack is water resistant and offers an ARAI certified range of 312 km on a single charge. Tata offers a 3.3 kW onboard charger with the Nexon EV which can be fully charged in eight hours. Meanwhile, a 25 kW DC fast charger will charge the vehicle from 0-80 percent in 60 minutes.
