Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’: Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda, others to star in comic book adaptation

Three star kids – Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda – are set to make their film debut with Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film “The Archies”, the filmmaker announced on Saturday.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan and late Bollywood actor Sridevi’s daughters Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor and megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya Nanda are among the seven actors who will be seen in the live-action musical film.

The other four actors are “Super 30” star Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Yuvraj Menda and Vedang Raina.

Akhtar took to Instagram and shared a teaser video unveiling the cast of the film, set in the 1960s.

“There’s nothing like old school. Grab your gang because Archies is coming soon to @netflix_in!” She wrote in the caption.

The filmmaker also unveiled the official poster of the film in another post, which read, “Get ready to take a trip down memory lane as Archies is coming soon to @netflix_in”.

Netflix has partnered with Archie Comics for the project, which Akhtar and his longtime collaborator Reema Kagti are producing under their banner Tiger Baby.

‘The Archies’ will be released on Netflix in 2023.

On social media, the three star kids received congratulatory messages from their family members.

Agastya Nanda’s mother Shweta Bachchan-Nanda’s father Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, “Another sunrise .. my grandson .. all blessings Agastya .. love you.”

Suhana Khan’s mother Gauri Khan shared the teaser of the film on Instagram and lashed out at all the seven actors.

Janhvi Kapoor also shared a heartfelt message for her younger brother Khushi Kapoor, and praised the newcomers for “working tirelessly for months to make this world, let these characters start living this journey”.
